This project was completed during my digital photography class in the spring of 2020 at Diablo Valley College. The goal was to reconstruct and reinterpret an existing piece of art through digital photography. I chose the painting titled "The Witness" by Bahar Sabzevari, an Iranian visual artist based in New York, whose work I deeply admire. For this project, I began by capturing several digital photographs to compose the elements for my reconstruction. I then used Photoshop to carefully blend and manipulate these images, recreating the essence of Sabzevari’s original work while infusing it with my own perspective. The first image is my reconstructed interpretation, while the second image showcases Sabzevari's original painting. This project allowed me to explore how photography and digital tools can be used to pay homage to traditional painting, while also encouraging personal expression and creativity.
