Jump Again

For this project, we were tasked with selecting a location as the focus for our Superlative Site project. The assignment involved conducting research, taking photographs, creating a logo, designing a 3D model using Autodesk Fusion 360, and then fabricating a stamp of the logo using a CNC machine. In this presentation, I’ve included rendered images, toolpath simulation visuals, and photos of the site. I chose Bay Area Skydiving as my location because it offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience, one I personally had a few years ago. Located northeast of San Jose at the Byron Airport, the skydiving site is surrounded by scenic farms and natural landscapes, providing breathtaking views from above. It’s easily accessible off the 580 freeway, not far from Livermore, a town known for its wine tasting and excellent restaurants. Even if you’re not interested in skydiving, the experience of watching others jump from the plane and free-fall before deploying their parachutes is exciting. For first-timers, they offer training on basic skydiving rules, followed by tandem skydiving, where you are securely strapped to a professional instructor. One memorable feature of the experience is the small pond where some customers are gently dipped during their landing. Outside the building, a sign encourages visitors to "Jump Again," welcoming repeat adventurers!
